How long have you been saying,

“I’ve GOT to get my office organized”?

You have a home office, a corporate office, or anything in between, and it's located in the greater Boston, MA area.  You've bought every book on getting organized or on time management, and watched every related TV show--and still don't know where to start.

There are four key areas of office organization, and each one is a piece of the productivity puzzle:

  • Paper Management
  • Electronic Files Management
  • Space Management
  • Time Management

Got Piles?  Got Piles of Files?

Paper Management

Is this you?

  • Paperwork (files, bills, incoming mail) is not easily found.

  • Files and folders are jam-packed, and a shoe horn is needed to get more paper into them.

  • Unnecessary papers aren't purged periodically.

  • You can't find the top of your desk.
"You will see a paperless office when you see a paperless toilet."

   A Computer Colleague,    circa 1984

Is your computer’s desktop a pretty “mosaic” of icons, Word documents, and Excel spreadsheets?

Electronic Files Management

Is this you?

  • There is no systematic method for naming your electronic files (email and documents).

  • Your inbox grows exponentially--it's not spam-filtered, organized, or purged regularly.

  • Information in your computer can't be quickly accessed.

  • Unnecessary files aren't deleted periodically.

"It's been my policy to view the Internet not as an 'information highway,’ but as an electronic asylum filled with babbling loonies."

   Mike Royko, Journalist

Are there stacks of stuff around your office because your file cabinet is across the room, and it’s just too much of a hassle to re-file?

Space Management

Is this you?

  • You share an office, or it is arranged so you can't easily get to materials and information you need.

  • No one can find what they need in your office when you're not there.

  • Your office does not reflect the quality of your work.

"Almost all quality improvement comes via simplification of design ... layout, processes, and procedures."

   Tom Peters

Getting better organized is a great idea, but who has the time?

Time Management

Is this you?

  • There's no effective system for managing projects and work in progress.

  • Important tasks and projects aren't always completed on time.

  • Drop-in visitors, phone calls, voicemail, and email seem to be managing you.

  • Invoices aren't sent in a timely manner; bills aren't paid on time.

  • You seem to come into the office earlier, and leave later.

  • You never get enough sleep at night.

"I am definitely going to take a course on time management... just as soon as I can work it into my schedule."

   Louis E. Boone

Fast.  Faster.  Fastest.  The pace has not slowed down and, chances are, neither have you.

Time is money, and we know we have to work smarter, not longer.  While some of us developed sound organizing and time management skills early in life, others haven't -- yet.  And, unlike TV programs that show a total organizing “makeover” in one episode, the reality is that it takes time, motivation, and commitment to get there.

If you are ready, motivated, and committed to getting results, here's how:
